Anna Carnick is an American-born, Berlin-based independent writer, curator, and design consultant. She is also cofounder of Anava Projects, a creative agency dedicated to supporting designers and projects that center social and environmental awareness. Carnick has curated and produced design exhibitions, public art installations, events, and cultural programming around the globe at esteemed venues such as Design Miami (including serving as Design Miami's 2023 Curatorial Director), Milan Design Week (5VIE), Miami Design District, Carpenters Workshop Gallery, Edit Napoli, and more. Throughout, her work celebrates the storytelling power of design; nurtures emerging talent and community; and champions the belief that good design can and should make a positive impact.From 2020 to 2024, together with her Anava Projects partner Wava Carpenter, Carnick was Co-Editor-in-Chief of Design Miami’s The Forum/ and led the prestigious fair’s philanthropic efforts. She has edited several books on art and design and written for a variety of respect publications and institutions. She is, as well, the author of two books, Nendo: 10/10 and Design Voices, and previously penned a column called The Gallerist for Icon Design Magazine.
