New Champlain Bridge Corridor Project - Independent Engineer Mandate, Montréal, QC, Canada:The $4.4B Public Private Partnership (P3) project includes a 3.4 km long new Bridge over the Saint-Lawrence River to replace the existing Champlain Bridge, two new 500 m long bridges, 19 new overpasses and more than 8 km of highway improvements. The new Bridge has two three-lane corridors for vehicular traffic and a two-lane corridor for accommodating a light rail transit system.- Responsible for the Independent Engineer's review submittal process of the light rail transit system.- Verify plans and construction reports for the certification phase of the project.- Inspect structures to ensure conformity of elements with drawings and applicable standards.- Conduct audits of the construction activities.- Monitor the construction activities related to the project's electrical power distribution network, intelligent transportation system (ITS) and structural health monitoring system (SHMS).- Review Non-Conformance Reports to ensure the corrective actions proposed comply with the Project Agreement and the applicable standards.- Represent the Independent Engineer on various committees such as the "Comité de coordination des travaux du corridor du pont Champlain (existant et nouveau)" and the "Comité de gestion: Planification et coordination des travaux du pont Samuel-de Champlain".
