Worked creating third party integration software and internal middleware to sync backend with front end systems regarding product information, inventory and prices.Collaborate in the effort to migrate from Interchange to ATG, by releaseing the fisrt site www.hucknroll.com.After that, I was part of the platform / architecture team, which was the owner of the best practices of development with ATG, optimize performance and provide tools to the rest of the teams to be used in our production environments.

Leading a team of developers working on an educational software solution used in the USA. Our tasks consist of maintaining the application, fixing current bugs and integrate new features. Also we had to troubleshoot the performance of the application and tune it in order to meet customer expectations.My role as a leader involved coordinating the development of the new features with the customers, defining technologies being used in our solutions, solving major issues and helping the team to get their work done when needed.

I worked on enhancements for applications I had worked in the past so they can adapt to the new changes the customer needed. The application were responsible to coordinate the selling and activation of cell phone lines for the Costar Rican Telecommunications Company.A couple of successful projects which are being used nation wide were developed during this time.

I lead a team of developers during my work with Isthmus developing several projects for customers based on the USA. I stayed more than 8 months working on site in Virginia and North Carolina helping with the development. The projects are being used by companies in the United States. Technologies used by this projects include Spring Framework, Hibernate 2/3, Spring MVC, JSF and EJBs.

I was hired to help on the development of an application to sell and activate cell phone lines acquired by ICE (Costarrican Telephony company). The development took 8 weeks and the system was ready on time to start selling the lines. Then I worked several weeks after monitoring the tool and giving some basic maintenance to it. The system is still with 800+ concurrent users and it has been used to sell 300K+ new cell phone lines with it.This system is still being used today (with some features added by my self later on when working as an independent contractor).

I was the lead of a team of developers working on building the foundation of the new system developed by this company. They had a legacy application running on an AS400 server developed during the 80's and they wanted to migrate the whole system to Java. The target system was a desktop application build with Swing using Java WebStart. The technologies used on this project include: Spring Framework, Hibernate and Swing.I was responsible of defining the architecture and leading the development of the application.

During this period I worked on several independent projects as a contractor.I developed during 4 months some games (Hold'em Poker, Backgammon, Blackjack) for online casinos. The front end was Flash (action script) and the back end was build in Java.After that I worked on a one year contract in the development of a distributed Java application used by a hardware store. The application took care of warehouses, sales and basic accounting functionality. The technologies used to develop this application were EJBs + Struts and Swing for a little maintenance module.

Part of the QA department of several of the projects (software migration from Informix 4GL to Java, Oracle to Java and Oracle to J2EE). Also developed tools used internally by the QA department to automate daily tasks. The tasks involved testing the quality of the products, finding bugs, tracing them and developing solutions for them, and create test suites with tools to automate the testing.
