I use data to support NBRC's mission to catalyze community vitality and economic prosperity in 60 counties across ME, NH, NY, and VT, home to over four million people.And I have accomplished the following:Leveraged business intelligence to understand past investments worth over $200 million in grants and $600 million in matched funds, drive future investments, improve processes, share insights, and elevate reporting capabilities.Established protocols and used APIs to pull the US Census Bureau's American Community Survey 5-YR Estimate data analysis of regional data.Created the first GIS data set to map nearly 500 past investments worth over $194 million, using Excel 3D Maps GIS mapping and leading to the current ArcGIS map.Leveraged my data skills to identify system errors and ensured prospective applicants could apply; the total value of applications was over $19 million.Ensured data continuity by inventorying data from a legacy system export and creating a data model for potential database management systems. I also coordinated the transfer of over seven thousand application records from a previous system using Excel to ensure data continuity.Researched other methods and data sets to improve distress criteria and model the region's population at the county and sub-county levels to understand the area better.

I supported the Station1 instructional team with program operations that empowered new researchers in the Frontiers Fellowship. I facilitated the Frontiers Fellows' education as they gained knowledge of socially-directed science and technology via the Station1 model.I assisted the fellows as they pursued emergent research opportunities through their respective internships in sustainable advanced materials and manufacturing, agricultural technology, and socioreslient sustainable infrastructure.I also worked on collecting program assessment and evaluation data, conducting ongoing research, codifying, and writing program reports.

I supported the Financial Aid and Scholarships (FA&S) department with data and systems management, and policy implementation through business process development and automation. I provided sustainable business solutions such as automated Structured Query Language (SQL) queries and mass communications through PeopleSoft.I used my leadership, communication, and coaching skills to collaborate to understand processes and solve problems. As well as, collaborating with other teams to improve my colleagues' access to actionable information, which provided students with greater access to financial aid.My duties included working with and negotiating with other teams and departments to manage the software applications, which processed data from student records and provided mass communications. I worked with multiple sources to create information that provides financial aid to eligible students.Data sources include data from the Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and Blackbaud (scholarships) that gets transferred to PeopleSoft and data warehouse modules/segments such as Human Resources, Applications (Admissions), and Enrollment (Registrar), and Student Financials. In addition, I worked with other application suites such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Data Studio, and Sites to process and manage students' records and students' financial aid.I created a Google Data Studio and worked with my colleagues to rebuild the Work-Study program. This has also provided a stable, low-cost, locally maintained interim reporting solution since Fall 2020. It offered examples for future reporting and a suite of tools for analysis for program improvement. Even with all of the factors of 2020, the tools and processes resulted in the highest federal budget execution in the past 4 years, thus providing the greatest assistance to the most students in the program during 2020.

I coordinated the development of Business Intelligence (BI) solutions’ life cycles in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment, supported four major Micron initiatives, and impacted nearly all Micron memory products. I used a custom Scrum/Kanban method to manage development, analysis, design, data modeling, testing, and sustainable solutions. And adapted to frequent changes in processes, requirements, and constrained resources. My critical thinking and emotional intelligence use improved relationships within our department and other business areas, understanding commitments, and resolving conflict. This improved collaboration with stakeholders across the globe in transitioning from legacy systems to design and prototype improved solutions that supported business strategies, reduced cost, minimized maintenance, and delivered immediate business value.I played a key role in creating a custom Agile process for the team’s developers, which resulted in fewer errors, accurate planning, and better execution. I also made a data dictionary that provided clear definitions and formulas to 10,000 end-users worldwide. My efforts impacted the development of reporting information and helped align project managers, engineers, and executive leadership to drive decisions for the company’s 30,000 employees and over 30 billion dollars in revenue.

I provided support to the E-Commerce and Digital Marketing departments and various other teams with their data requests, which helped me better understand customers' needs—in this case, their fitness goals. Some of my duties included collaborating with stakeholders and defining business cases concerning customer behavior on the website. In addition, I rebuilt the reporting data dictionary so that all reporting users had clearly defined calculations and reduced using terms interchangeably.I utilized Microsoft products to research, analyze, model website data, and publish findings. This empowered our stakeholders to make informed decisions and focus on customers' needs.

I supported four instructors with their eight sections of approximately 250 students. My duties included grading, developing assignments, and delivering course content. I also tutored students in basic concepts of data cleaning, modeling, queries, and visualization using Microsoft Excel, Access, and Power Business Intelligence (PowerBI). I assisted with managing the discussion board using Google Groups/Discussion board.

I worked with my team to support the campus community of over 22,000 students and 2,400 faculty and staff members. The digital tools and platforms we supported were Fevvo, myBoiseState applications, Oracle Peoplesoft, and Blackboard.I communicated and managed issues via Microsoft System Center Service Manager and Slack. I also managed requests for development with the Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server. Some of the tools I've used to troubleshoot issues are BrowserStack and Windows Powershell. My duties also included reporting statistics using Infogram, Google Play Developer Console, and iTunes Connect reports.

I worked with the BIRS team to provide university leadership with the tools to make data-driven decisions, which improved business processes, empowered customers, and constantly enhanced the quality of education delivered by the university.We communicated and met with customers to gain insight and perspective on their data needs. Then, we researched policies and examples to understand their data requirements and business rules better. Using SSMS to find related data within the data warehouse, various databases, and policies, we would write SQL queries and stored procedures to hone in on the most accurate data sources. We used our problem-solving, research, and analysis skills and guidance from team members to write efficient stored procedures. Afterward, we presented the data as information through Visual Studio and SharePoint.After building prototypes, we worked with customers to ensure the translation and revision of business rules in our process, calculations, and data validation. Then, we allowed the data to drive business processes and empower customers while continuing to improve our business processes and code.

I served on active duty in the Marine Corps from January 2007 to December 2010, and I had two primary roles. One was to support my junior Marines' personal and professional growth, ensure well-being through leadership and mentoring, and ensure readiness for deployment. Two, I ensured the execution of financial resources using the Standard Accounting Budgeting and Reporting System. Other leadership duties: I led or coordinated annual and/or supplemental training, assisted with coaching martial arts and marksmanship, and often led physical fitness training.During that active duty, I worked with fiscal teams to balance and execute the headquarters budget for the Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Futenma in Okinawa, Japan, and the I Marine Expeditionary Force (IMEF) at Camp Pendleton, CA. While at MCAS Futenma, I worked with Marines, Sailors, and Japanese civilians to manage pilots' training, contracts, and logistics. I also worked with my team to manage travel with the Defense Travel System. I successfully collaborated and negotiated with the leadership of 22 sections and sub-sections to utilize 99.69% of a multimillion-dollar budget. We purchased new firefighting equipment for live-fire training and new aircraft landing equipment and funded additional training during that time. We also purchased equipment, contract services, and supplies for airfield operations to support our mission best. We also secured new martial arts equipment that supported the significant increase in participation in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program and resulted in several Marines' achievement of belt promotions up to the Black Belt rank, which also supported career progression. Overall, that work enhanced capabilities, readiness, and morale.I was meritoriously promoted to corporal during active duty, earned an honorable discharge, and was promoted to sergeant while in the reserve status.
