Contracted to assist in the roll out of a new software package being introduced throughout all NHS hospitals in Lothian, I and one other were tasked with rolling out all the hardware to support this package. I must admit working in a hospital was not a pleasant experience for me.

I worked in a permanent position for this company. They specialised in an electronic solution for data management, by using scanners and software that they themselves had written. I looked after my first 2003 server environment and installed the product at customer sites throughout Scotland. Due to a lack of sales this company folded.

I worked here for over two years as IT Assistant. This is where I learnt most of my WinNT skills. As part of a two-man team covering all of this company’s offices throughout Scotland I was first point of contact for user support calls.

11 years spent looking after convicted criminals mostly young offenders between 18 - 21 ensured lots of life experience was gained here - working within the team environment is everything in this field as you rely on your colleagues completely. Great time and even greater laughs, sounds strange, but you had to be there.
