As the six employee I have had the opportunity to gain a wide array of experience while at the company from its seed stage through A and B rounds of funding and the accompanying growth. - Developed a sophisticated "stored credit" system modeled after double-entry accounting that has kept accurate account of all money movement throughout the Glyde marketplace. - Responsible for system performance and scale. Developed a suite of tools for testing and improving performance and scale. - Architected and implemented an inventory discovery system indexing over 13 million unique SKUs. - Key contributor and engineering lead on many other software pieces core to the product.

Worked as a staff engineer developing software solutions as part of larger ocean engineering efforts (we worked in teams with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers along with scientists). Initially focused on metadata systems for data archiving, I later transitioned into a variety of areas. When I left my time was split between working on a data mining research project and developing the control systems for a deep sea mobile research station. It was an amazingly cool job, but alas, I could not resist the siren song of the Silicon Valley.
