Throughout my entire Naval Nuclear Power career, I have exceled in many different roles and environments. I was the first person ever to qualify as an instructor on the state-of-the-art Simulation Trainer at Navy Nuclear Power Training Unit. I have been Engineering Watch Supervisor at 4 different commands and I recently finished my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. I have always strived to be a servant leader and the thing I will miss the most about the Navy, will be the mentoring and developing of junior sailors into the world's most elite group of Nuclear Operators and Technicians.

• Provided continuous supervision for 15 personnel including mechanics, electricians, and electronics technicians for the safe and efficient operation of a nuclear power plant.• Coordinated and oversaw all engineering watch standers during reactor plant operations and in a shutdown status.• Provided training to junior personnel on nuclear power plant operations.

• Collected and analyzed samples on several systems including radioactive, steam plant, and pure water. Used the quantitative analytical results to determine trends, correct out of specification results, and identify abnormalities in the associated systems.• Responsible for the management, tracking, and administration of all radioactive discharges overboard. Successfully completed sixteen radioactive discharges overboard to include four radioactive degas evolutions. Achieved zero deficiencies and a perfectly rated program during all internal and external Reactor Department inspections.• Selected to be the primary administrator and radiological control supervisor for two major radiological maintenance procedures requiring hundreds of man-hours and over twenty personnel to prepare for and execute. Refined previous methods of staging for the maintenance and documentation methods, which resulted in a significant reduction in both the time required to stage for the maintenance and time required in follow up documentation at the conclusion of maintenance.• Managed, supervised, and audited approximately one hundred maintenance procedures requiring radiological controls, overseeing all work practices and procedures preventing the spread of radioactive particulate and minimizing radiation exposure to maintenance personnel.• Trained all new personnel in proper radiological practices, proper laboratory procedure and conduct, casualty procedures, and trend analysis.• Maintained and calibrated several precision radiation monitoring and detection devices, to include diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of any out-of-specification equipment.• Handled, cataloged, and disposed of a wide variety of radioactive and/or hazardous materials and constituents.
