I started Advanced Professional Healthcare Education (APHE) LLC in March 2007. As an experienced Firefighter, Critical Care Paramedic and AHA BLS, ACLS and PALS Instructor, I was looking to build a place where students could get certified in a relaxed environment with interesting, engaging, science-based education and training. Today, APHE is an Authorized AHA Training Center: one of the largest providers of resuscitation training and certification in the Midwest and growing nationwide. APHE has trained and certified over 1,000 AHA Instructors and over 150,000 AHA First Aid CPR AED, BLS, ACLS and PALS Providers. APHE employs 16 full time and almost 100 part time staff. Over 500 AHA Instructors are aligned with the APHE AHA Training Center. How did APHE grow to this size? After all, we are teaching the same AHA classes as many other organizations. Our clients choose APHE and return for our reputation, incredible Instructors and wonderful Client Relations. Our classes are interesting and fun because our Instructors are awesome. Our instructors stay with us because we expect them to take their class to the next level. APHE Instructors operate independently ans teach engaging classes-- they care that their students understand and can use their knowledge and skills. Our team members and instructors are our greatest asset. Our culture is why our team stays together. Today, I am the President and Training Center Coordinator. I love my career and the people who I work with (my work family). I stay true to my roots as a Part Time Fire Lieutenant & Critical Care Paramedic with Western Lakes Fire District (WLFD). It is so rewarding being part of the leadership of a growing agency, watching and helping our young people learn and grow, seeing where my generation of Firefighters, EMTs and Paramedics are today, and looking to the future of firefighting, EMS and public safety training and policy.
