I believe in the proper implementation of financial controls to protect the integrity of the accounting system and to reduce the opportunity for fraudulent behavior. I believe that administration/operations should hire the right person based on their personality. The willingness to work hard, self manage and excel is more valuable than experience with any single task. Very few skill sets are so rare and valuable that you can afford to hire the wrong person to do it.I believe that a company can only make competent decisions by having access to complete information. I am somewhat obsessive about information and I take pride in developing systems to properly provide an excess of useful information that can be used to tell a full narrative. As a result, Microsoft Excel and I are on a first name basis and we play racquetball daily. With such, I establish procedures that decrease project time and manual labor by automation, which also have the side effect of significantly decreases user errors. This allows the preparer of the data more time to analyze the information and give meaningful analysis.I believe in teaching my team these skills so that they are empowered to create their own processes that they own and are accountable for.I believe in low attrition, that most every employee wants to perform well and do what is asked of them. If an employee is underperforming, then management should probably look at the person who is instructing/leading them and most of the time you will find the root of the issue.I believe the keys to success for any company are the right employees, the right processes, and the right strategy.
