• Uma Oya Multipurpose Development Project (UOMDP) Uma Oya is one of the remaining hydro sites and Uma Oya Multipurpose Development project which is implemented by the Ministry of Mahaweli Development and Environment. In 2008 Sri Lankan government began the project with Iranian funding and the foundation stone for the project without obtaining Environmental Clearance for the project. Uma Oya Project (UOMDP) is trans-basin diversion of 145 MCM of excess water annually from Uma Oya basin to Kirindi Oya basin for alleviating the water scarcity in the Southeastern dry zone without affecting the water users and environment in Uma Oya basin. This will provide water to irrigate around 4500 ha of new land and to around 1500 ha of existing agricultural land in Moneragala District and will provide 30 MCM of drinking and industrial water requirements in Moneragala and Hambantota Districts. An underground power station with an installed capacity of 120 MW will be constructed which will add around 231 GWh of electrical energy annually to the National Grid.Further, in Badulla District, drinking water will be provided to Bandarawela area from Dyrabaa reservoir and to Atampitiya area from Puhulpola reservoir.Job role • Assisting to prepare of project progress reports to the Ministry and other relevant parties.• Assisting to the project procurement committee and project procurement process (Requesting Quotations, Prepare Purchase orders, invoice).• Assisting to prepare of reports and Presentations for the monthly meetings.• Preparing approval letters related to the project site visits.• Handling and maintaining staff leave records • Handing & Maintaining of Fixed Asset records.• Maintaining & Updating of Stationeries.• Preparing and typing all kinds of letters in Sinhala and English languages• Assisting to Prepare the reports of damages related to the project work (crop damages/house damages)
