My role is to provide compassionate care and assistance to guest families staying at Ronald McDonald House Grafton Mews, ensuring exceptional service delivery in line with House policies and service standards. This includes orientating families around the house, connecting them with the appropriate support services, and being someone that they can talk to.

In this role, I use health promotion strategies to reduce drug harm in young New Zealanders. I have engaged with young people in drug checking clinics at Rhythm and Vines, University of Auckland and Massey University.

In this role, I advocate for my peers, share wellbeing messages and deliver trainings within the University student community.

Over the summer university break, I worked at the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences in the School of Population Health, writing a scoping review of neurodiversity in Aotearoa New Zealand. My supervisor was Dr Ben Fletcher, and my work was funded by a Summer Research Scholarship from the University of Auckland.

Following two years of service as an Advocacy Ambassador, I was asked to stay and lead the first restructuring pilot of the programme. In this role, I led seventeen new and returning Advocacy Ambassadors alongside the Advocacy Ambassador Programme Manager.

Over the summer break, I studied part-time towards a Level 3 Health and Wellbeing Certificate while working casually as a caregiver. The care home that I worked at was hospital-level care.

I was a member of the Emergency Management team of Tauranga City Council, as one of the ambassadors for their tsunami awareness campaign. For this, I worked within the community ensuring that locals had the most accurate and up to date information regarding tsunami safety in Tauranga. I also helped develop resources that will be used for the duration of the campaign.

My role at Chapel Cafe was to perform a variety of duties to ensure an excellent customer experience and a safe work environment. This included the preparation of cabinet food and drinks, serving customers at the till and clearing tables.
