hackX 8.0 is a prestigious inter-university startup challenge organized by the Industrial Management Science Student Association (IMSSA) at the University of Kelaniya. This event serves as a platform for undergraduates across Sri Lanka to showcase their entrepreneurial skills, innovative ideas, and technological solutions. With participation from over 800 students, hackX 8.0 fosters a collaborative environment where academia meets industry, providing invaluable exposure and networking opportunities for future entrepreneurs and technologists. The event was organized in partnership with Trident Corporation as the title partner, along with Microsoft and Lenovo. Our gold partner was Evonsys Pvt Ltd, and Creative Software was our silver partner. We were also supported by leading tech companies in Sri Lanka, including 99x, Ideamart, and Virtusa.As the Chief Coordinator of hackX 8.0 in 2023, I led a dynamic and multifaceted event, managing a significant budget of 1.3 million LKR. My responsibilities included overseeing the entire organizational process, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring the smooth execution of the event. Under my leadership, hackX 8.0 not only achieved its goals but also exceeded expectations, successfully bridging the gap between academia and industry. This experience has significantly enhanced my leadership and project management skills, equipping me to excel in future tech industry challenges.
