The Chief Executive is the Commissioner delegate of Ambulance Services for the state of Tasmania overseeing a team of 1,100 staff and ambulance volunteers, responding from 55 stations and two airports, an annual operating budget of $155M.In this role, our team implemented a successful Secondary Triage and referral program ($13.8M over six years) to divert low acuity triple zero calls away from emergency ambulance response and emergency department presentation. Together with partners in Tasmania Police and Tasmanian Health Service, we launched a two-year ($5.1M) Police Ambulance Clinician Early Response (PACER) mental health co-responder program to provide care to mental health patients in the community to reduce emergency department presentations.As the CE I led an organization-wide culture review and implemented a multi-year, comprehensive culture improvement action plan.
