I lead the Research & Instruction Department in Nimitz Library. I oversee the planning, execution and assessment of information literacy and research support services. In addition, I provide high-quality research support to the Leadership, Ethics & Law department, evaluate and maintain library collections, and collaborate with other department heads to support the Library's mission and goals.

I provide high-level research support to the faculty and students of the Kogod School of Business, and others on campus with business research needs. I teach subject-specific library instruction sessions for Kogod students, as well as other information literacy sessions as needed. In addition, I serve on the Collections Management Team, selecting print and digital materials to support Kogod student and faculty research.

I served as project manager for a SILS executive education initiative, partnering with the U.S. government. I worked with with SILS faculty and government employees in developing a two-week data management training session. For the pilot session, I led the assessment of the modules, including collecting and analyzing feedback via surveys and focus groups.

The ELIME-21 fellowship focused on developing continuing education opportunities for librarians and other information professionals in the Middle East and North Africa. I am currently working with the other ELIME-21 fellows to edit a volume (to be published by IFLA/De Gruyter in July 2016) on library and information science in this region. I also organized and moderated the Global Library Leadership workshop, working with The American University and the Information Resource Center at the American Embassy in Egypt.

Worked with eight librarian instructors, as well as external offices, in order to administer fifteen sections of LALT 101, an information literacy course required for all AUC students. Coordinated all course scheduling and student enrollment requirements through cooperation with the registrar's office. Managed the course wiki, adding and editing curriculum content. Taught two sections of LALT 101 each semester, covering topics such as database searching, assessment of online information, and accessing news sources.

Chair of the Information Literacy (IL) Task Force, a committee that assessed the semester long information literacy course to ensure that students were receiving information literacy training in the most effective manner possible. Acted as library instruction session coordinator, and taught sessions for a variety of subjects. Implemented changes to improve the way that IL training was provided to undergraduate AUC students by creating and maintaining online research guides, and teaching database workshops for instructors. Designed, coordinated and taught IL workshops for students, faculty, staff and external users. Interacted with departments and offices across campus to provide information literacy training and ensure that these needs were met for all students. Led an AMICAL-sponsored research project, exploring how students conduct research for academic assignments, and use the library and campus spaces for learning. Provided reference assistance, both on an appointment basis and at the Library Help Desk, utilizing the library catalog, online resources, and eighty-four databases. Acted as library liaison to the management and accounting departments, working closely with department faculty for collection development purposes. Selected monographs, and used GOBI and OASIS to place orders with Coutts and Yankee Book Peddlers. Assessed the appropriateness of subject-specific electronic resources, in order to best utilize funds.

Assisted with implementation of faculty member's Students & Technology in Academia, Research and Service (STARS) Alliance project, working with several universities to broaden participation in computing. Conducted focus group research on the appeal of the STARS website to middle and high school students. Managed a team of undergraduate students, including the information architect and web designer, that kept the website updated and developed STARS promotional materials. Administered LIS department graduate survey project and managed data entry of returned surveys using SurveyMonkey and Microsoft Excel, in order to help the department assess the LIS program. Served as project manager for the Department of Library and Information Studies website redevelopment project. Improved website content by writing department news articles, and collecting, compiling and editing content from faculty members. Ensured that the project progressed in an efficient manner by managing the action item timeline using Microsoft Excel and Google Documents. Responsible for managing the department's computer lab. Managed student workers and scheduling for 30 hours per week. Assessed and improved the organization of department owned equipment, including digital cameras, video cameras and laptop computers.
