Being part of the Ulysses project management team, I decided to take an opportunity as a crew member to gain experience and knowledge working on a vessel I was part of from the very beginning. Onboard I worked as a deckhand and an onboard designer, juggling the two roles. This gave me a great insight to the finished product, being able to work with the vessel, and how to use my design skills to improve functionally onboard. Below give a good description of my role onboard. 3D and 2D design and drafting of several areas of the vessel from bridge accessories to compartment storage layouts and Interior crew space arrangement and furniture designConferred with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems, and to develop or modify designsDeckhand duties, Navigational Bridge lookout, Tender driverElected safety representative, liaised between deck crew and officers and ensured safety practices onboardPrepared and delivered system layouts, detailed drawings and schematicsTender location and fitment design, incorporating crane operations.My onboard time was very fulfilling and exciting, meeting and working with lots of amazing people around the world. The knowledge and practical experience I gained on one of the world's greatest super yachts was priceless. It truly was one of the greatest classrooms t add and enhance my marine design skills.

Joined Felham Enterprises (Cayman) LTD as a junior drafter worked my way up to Senior Marine designer and head of design.
