Senior software engineer with infrastructure and space mission engineering background. Bias for impact and constant improvement. My goals are to delight stakeholders and act as a force multiplier for engineering teams.I’ve written async protocol handlers for socket communications, designed efficient relational schemas, traced service-to-service calls between microservices, debugged serial communications with an oscilloscope, ran computing and network infrastructure for a satellite mission, and more.Most recently, I’ve worked as an Engineering Lead at BAFS, where I have owned the backend microservices within the BLAST commercial lending management platform. In addition to making cross-cutting functional improvements across our systems, I worked with the Product Team to gather and refine requirements on work items before they’re given to the engineering team.Previously, I worked as a staff member in the Department of Earth, Planetary, and Space Sciences at UCLA, where I mentored students in software engineering and owned the infrastructure for the successful ELFIN CubeSat mission. With my assistance, the ELFIN team increased scientific data return by nearly an order of magnitude and expanded the capabilities of the spacecraft to support new scientific collections.
