A better understanding of the molecular mechanisms governing vascular ingression in the neural tube has important clinical ramifications as many diseases, including cancer and stroke, are associated with the biology of CNS blood vessels.Training in various laboratory techniques including ISH, IHC, histology, gel electrophoresis, microbiology, molecular cloning, RT-PCR, electroporation and microscopy, acquiring an excellent eye for detail and exceptional manual dexterity skills. Investigating the role of the urotensinergic system on chemoattraction in vivo: application to glioma invasion and neoangiogenesis. Performed in vivo methodologies in C57BL/6 and immunodeficient nude mice by injection of Matrigel plugs in the presence and absence of chemoattractant factors and injection of cultured human cells (glioblastoma-derived U87-GFP) in creating heterotopic and orthotopic xenograft mouse models.
