I was hired to write print advertorials for an aging magazine conglomerate, but after working on a pitch in my first month for Blue Sky's first fashion prospect, I grew to become the lead copywriter on what would become the agency's largest client. Led by the creative direction of Mike Schatz and Jenn Padgett, I developed a distinct voice and carried it across hundreds of tactics during the client's year-plus-long rebrand. Working hand-in-hand with my designer partner, I was intimately involved in every aspect of the creative process, from social media to photo shoots, through a dozen seasonal campaigns. I saw measurable improvements in the client's goals, including an immediate increase in Facebook likes after I took over writing for the page. I discovered a talent for fashion writing, gained what felt like 10 years of experience, and shared my desk with shoes for over a year.Between the lines, I contributed to campaigns for Turner Broadcasting, tbs, TNT, Hotel Indigo and other IHG brands, Gas South, The Atlanta Braves and others.

After Armchair was kind enough to extend an internship to me, I stuck around for over a year as the agency's first long-term in-house copywriter. I contributed in every way I could, whether that was helping figure out the storyline in an interactive game or wrangling student interviewees during a video shoot 3,000 miles away from home. I learned how to have a productive brainstorm as well as some rudimentary design skills, and that regardless of how scarce text has become in digital media, storytelling continues to be the primary force connecting with audiences. I storyboarded, wrote short scripts, edited and wrote short- and long-form copy internally and for clients. I was part of the on-site creative teams for Phillips-Van Heusen, Cartoon Network, MA, fusionbrands, Disney, Great Southern Wood and The College Board.

I was hired by Pinnacle to write content for its search engine marketing efforts. After showing a knack for writing creative copy, I was recruited to contribute to in-house marketing efforts ranging from direct mail pieces to website content and email blasts. I left to relaunch my career as a copywriter.

Seasonally in college and full-time after graduation, I was assistant to Carter Wrenn, President of PEM Management. I coordinated interviews with the press, conducted research for memoirs and novels, and managed the blog.
