Founded in 1986 by the Junior League of Atlanta and located in the North Avenue Presbyterian Church, the Atlanta Children's Shelter provides free, quality day care, emotional support, an educational curriculum for homeless children, and focused social services for their families.It is the mission of the Atlanta Children's Shelter to break the cycle of generational poverty for families facing homelessness by building pathways to long-term self-sufficiency and opportunities for economic mobility. In our 36-year history, ACS has cared for over 8,000 homeless children and provided services for more than 5,000 homeless families.
