I am an innovative, experienced educator, speaker, and leader seeking opportunities to work with those trying to prevent and solve problems, create change, discover innovative ways to expand marketing reach, or better understand their own history or the history of a challenge they are facing.After more than 20 years teaching at a higher education institution, I have redirected my skills towards collaboration with those in diverse fields and careers who are interested in the relevance of applying history to address current problems. This includes offering tailor-made keynote presentations, team-building workshops, and leadership consulting. My prior and current historical research, a career dedicated to teaching non-history majors, and instructional design experience have led me to prioritize an effort to democratize the “doing” of history far beyond the classroom and the historical profession. This takes many forms and I look forward to seeing how we might work together towards common goals.Who I am:In addition to over 20 years experience in higher education with a dedicated focus on student-centered goals, learning objectives, and skill development, I have experience in speaking to large and small groups, guiding workshops, leadership and team oversight, mentoring best practices, and bringing the strengths of others to the forefront for effective collaboration and project success. My non-traditional educational and career trajectory includes blending historical and humanities expertise with learning design principles and technologies, emphasizing consistent integration of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice.
