Although at first glance my CV may look like a dog's breakfast, a leitmotif runs through it.It dates back to my first work experience in Ivory Coast which taught me to live my life with passion and purpose. This is how, although I had studied business and administration, I decided to pursue my childhood dream of becoming a pilot, not to work for the airline but to provide assistance in developping countries.Working for a bank, first as an internal auditor, later as chief accountant, allowed me to emigrate to Canada and make my dream come true. After obtaining my licences and ratings, I worked as a flight instructor, teaching and mentoring student pilots from various cultural backgrounds and walks of life. After joining Partners in Aviation and Communication Technologies (PACTEC), we were assigned to Laos where, after 4 years of negotiations with various ministries, we established the Civil Aviation Flight Training Centre. A few years later, the government proudly announced that the first pilots trained in the country in over 40 years had graduated and joined the airlines. Those years of intercultural communication and negotiation sharpened skills that are now central to my coaching practice: determining what my counterparts really want, listening to what is said and what isn’t, ascertain we’re talking about the same thing, asking questions to clarify, etc.The most rewarding aspect of my job was, again, helping young women and men fresh out of high school unlock their potential so they could make their dream come true.Leading a multicultural team of up to 7 nationalities wasn’t without its challenges . It was during that time that I had the privilege of being coached. That experience provided fresh perspectives and put me back on the path of thriving personally and professionally. It also ignited my interest for coaching as a profession and prompted me to get trained and certified as an ICF coach. After 12 years in Laos, I became a trailing spouse so my wife could pursue her career. As a stay-at-home parent, I have mentored our 2 children to help them make the transition to the Swiss schooling system, run the household and developped my coaching activity.Whether teaching, mentoring or coaching, my focus is on helping people maximize their potential and fulfil their dreams. So, If your life looks like a dog’s breakfast, you feel lonely at the top, are looking for a change or would like a partner to help you achieve that dream of yours, feel free to connect for an exploratory conversation.
