I worked in a student led team to design and build a 3m wingspan UAV to compete in the SUAS 2023 competition.My role was to complete finite element analysis and structural design using knowledge and skills gained during my year in industry.The UAV we delivered made 3 successful test flights, during which the structure performed perfectly, before the aircraft was sadly lost due to a controls failure.

During my placement I performed finite element analysis for a wide variety of applications form valves to nuclear fusion devices to diamond pressure vessels. I held a lot of responsibility, writing analysis plans, technical reports and working with customers. I also used excel and learned to use python for automation.
