About Amardeep Sidhu

I have had the opportunity to collaborate on a wide variety of projects involving development and deployment of complex systems.I bring a unique combination of academics, research, and industry experience. My love for learning and problem solving has been the propellant that enabled me to launch from machine maintenance to machine design to researching feedback control systems to software verification and validation, and now to safety and systems engineering. Performing in these diverse roles has helped me become a systems thinker with strong work ethics, problem solving, and leadership skills.     Associated with MIT Interdisciplinary Consortium for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity (MIT(IC)3).-My objective was to investigate the use of system-theoretic process analysis for security (STPA-Sec) for systematic analysis of functional safety and cybersecurity of autonomous off-road vehicles.-In my thesis I compared STPA-Sec to methods from SAE J3061 guidebook and available literature on security extensions to ISO26262 (part 3).-Using the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) manual I developed an initial capability document (ICD) which captured the cybersecurity vulnerabilities/gaps of the autonomous off-road vehicle.-My research work also included representing certain elements of the ICD as Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) products.
