I am currently a dedicated student studying Computer Network and System Administration at Michigan Technological University. I'll be graduating during the 2024 spring semester around the end of April. My primary education is in network engineering, Windows server environments, and virtualization, but my work experience has made me become interested in Linux administration, DevOps and other automation roles. Through a combination of work-study, internships, and co-ops, I have a variety of experience.I started my journey in IT with three different IT Help Desk positions. I was the boots-on-the-ground person to do initial troubleshooting with any and all computer hardware and software issues. I have experiences in manufacturing and education environments. Working with mainly Windows machines and the occasional Linux machine.After help desk, I joined a Cloud Team. I learned about deploying applications with a cloud-native mindset and also learned how cloud deployments can help businesses save money on environments while being able to dynamically scale according to their needs.Next, I decided to step into the automation space. Through a co-operative education class at Michigan Tech, I worked for a small company making rugged embedded computing solutions as a Systems Administrator. I learned about DevOps and CI/CD principles alongside automation tools that helped teams achieve their goals. I've returned for my last year at Michigan Tech and I am frequently exploring new technologies and problem solving, all of which is driven by my passion for IT. I'm currently in the discovery and testing phases of implementing Kubernetes clusters for a club at Michigan Tech and I'd like to migrate my homelab to Kubernetes too for most of my services.
