-Manage the performance of staff ensuring that the agreed productivity targets are consistently achieved-Ensure feedback of company strategies and issues to staff through regular meetings, communication and interactions -Ensure maintenance of performance management systems in line with agreed best practice as well as continuous and consistent development of staff-Manage daily staff needs effectively-Participation on relevant projects where required-Maintaining relationship with Supply management -Ensure regulatory, compliance and preventative risk management -Ensure that all processes and products comply with regulation pertaining to the banking& insurance industry -Catastrophe claims management-Manage the claims estimates per loss class-Manage the average cost of claims-Manage ex-gratia payments-Age analysis of outstanding claims per loss class-Ensure that an effective and operational diary system is in place and is monitored Ensuring that all claims within the designated portfolio are effectively and timeously processed within the turnaround times.-Ensuring that the claims estimates are always timeously revised or adjusted to reflect the potential liability in line with recommendation of loss adjusters or other service providers-Report on Business movement monthly -Drafting and implementation of annual plans in accordance with business objectives-Analysis and reporting on key business indicators within scope of area-Compile management reports as required monthly -Ensure effective updating of own product and system knowledge -Undertake new responsibilities to expand competence-Effectively build and maintain relationships with services providers, colleagues and clients -A member of the social committeeI am in charge of the complete running of the operations in the claim department. I have both Domestic and Commercial claims being processed in my department. We also deal with all Recoveries, Salvage and Third Party approaches 

Processing vehicle claims, home contents, portable possessions and buildings I have been granted mandate for claims settlements up to R25000. One of 3 people nominated to process car hire claims.
