    Became MD Investment Banking at Icebank hf. in the start of 2008 when Icebank´s acquisition of Behrens was finalized. The bank´s strategy in Investment Banking was aggressive expansion in the Nordics and Central and Eastern Europe with specific focus on the Baltic and Balkan regions building up expertise in cross-border transaction between Northern and Eastern Europe. Under my management, Icebank made two acquisitions of corporate finance companies in Norway and Sweden in 2008 which grew my team in Investment Banking to approx. 40 people located in Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Latvia and Lithuania. After the collapse of the Icelandic banking system in October 2008 (approx. 9 months after I started in Icebank) my focus changed into keeping the bank alive and negotiating with its creditors as the bank became technically bankrupt on the back of the fall of the three largest banks in Iceland. I supervised communication and negotiations with the bank´s creditors until the Icelandic Financial Supervisory Authority decided to appoint a resolution committee for Icebank to move its foreign payment service systems and deposits from the Icelandic savings banks away from the bank by end of April 2009 to protect the infrastructure therein and keep the savings banks system in Iceland operating.As well as working on the bank´s restructuring I was involved in creditor negotiations and debt restructuring of several companies after the bank collapse in Iceland.
