I am the Joint-Director of the Oxfordshire Teaching School Hub (OTSH), and the Director of OTSA, a partnership of over 300 schools and organisations delivering school-led professional development from Initial Teacher Training through to executive school leadership.I trained as a Geography teacher at the University of Oxford after which I taught English in Japan for a year on the JET Programme. Following my return to the UK I taught at King Alfred’s School, Wantage, leading the Geography department. During this time I became the lead Geography author for Letts Publishers, writing 12 text books and revision guides.I became Assistant Headteacher at King Alfred's with responsibility for the professional development and appraisal of teachers and support staff, before going to to become the director of the Oxfordshire Teaching Schools Alliance (OTSA), a unique collaboration between nursery, primary, secondary and special schools which has been delivering school-led professional development to thousands of teachers for the last 10 years.As Joint-Director of the Oxfordshire Teaching School Hub, established in 2021, I am responsible for the delivery of the Early Career Framework, the National Professional Qualifications and Appropriate Body services to schools in Oxfordshire and the region.
