While working at Cahill Industrial, I became a sub-contractor with my own welding rig. My duties remained the same; pile splicing and capping, fabrication and structural welding.

I was employed by Cahill Industrial Services at the Surmont Phase 2 Project in Anzac, Alberta. My role here was mainly structural welding and fabrication, but I did some welding for electrical and instrumentation as well. All welding was done using SMAW on carbon steel and galvanized steel.

I was contracted to a fabrication shop called Strad Manufacturing Ltd. in Nisku, Alberta. In this shop I constructed oilfield equipment such as shale bins, pipe bins, berms, and eco ponds. Some of my duties included: welding using FCAW and MCAW, fitting, tacking, oxy-acetylene cutting and blueprint reading. Fabrication was done using carbon steel.

Employed as a full time welder/fabricator I performed many duties involving welding, fitting and metal fabrication. The work load included ship building and repair, heavy equipment maintenance, fabrication and erection of structural steel, fabrication and welding of piping components. I gained experience with SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, MCAW, GTAW, hard-facing, oxy-acetylene cutting, plasma arc cutting, carbon arc gouging and blueprint reading. During my time here, I worked with such materials as carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum. I also performed some non-destructive tests, such as; liquid penetrant testing, hydrostatic and pneumatic testing.

Employed as a part time welder/fabricator my responsibilities included fitting, welding and metal fabrication. The bulk of my experience here included fabrication and repair of equipment components such as; conveyor belts, pulley blocks, scallop draggers, shop doors, steel racks, feed bins, anchors, and housing units for oil tanks. I worked with carbon steel, aluminum and stainless steel using SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and MCAW as well as cutting with plasma arc and oxy-acetylene.
