I am a solution-oriented engineering professional, analytical thinker and outdoor lover who believes that it is never too late to live a more adventurous life.I strongly believe that education and getting involved are the keys to success. I am looking for opportunities to connect my passion for personal development with my desire of helping others to make a difference in the local community.I have chosen to study Master of Mechanical Engineering at Charles Darwin University (CDU) to build upon my university studies from Germany and achieve my long-term career goals in the energy field. For as long as I can remember, I have been curious about other cultures and countries. I wanted to travel and discover new places in order to experience different lifestyles and cuisines different to my own. Therefore, I decided to discover the beauty of Australia and in 2017 I packed my life into a suitcase and landed in Melbourne. Several cups of coffee later, I moved to Darwin in 2020.

Engineering TechnologistCkw Instalacje Jun 2017 - Aug 2017Szczecin, West Pomeranian District, PolandEvaluating the savings potential in office building on practical example.I developed this work in close cooperation with logistics department and in-house technicians of P.P.H.U. CKW-Instalacje. The main objective of the project was a direct comparison with ISO 14001 certification. Responsibilities• Determining the building current state. As a result, I established U-values for components of the building envelope and compared them against the EnEV (Energy Saving Ordinance) requirements as well as the values for a passive house.• Analysing the current state of building technology. I estimated the electrical consumers units and the internal thermal loads of electrical devices on the basis of provided schemes, counting procedures and conducted measurements.• Establishing the energy efficiency measures. For each measure I determined the respective savings with the help of building models.• Calculating the investment cost and static amortisation time for the intensive measures.• Prioritising of measures in cooperation with the logistics department and building services. Based on my findings, I created a list of possible measures with particular energy savings and reduced carbon dioxide emissions.Achievements• Cost Reduction: Saved up to 40 % on the energy costs due to refurbished lighting with a motion detector.• Cost Reduction: Saved up to 12 % on the energy costs due to refurbished windows.• Awareness: Raised the awareness about energy saving behaviour among the company’s employees.

Lighting EngineerTechnische Universität Berlin Oct 2016 - Feb 2017Berlin Area, GermanyPlanning of a standard conversion of a road lighting system to increase the energy efficiency, through a practical example.I designed the road lighting system for the district Ahrensfelde in Berlin to increase the energy efficiency. I developed this project in cooperation with the local authorities and community. This project was presented as my Bachelor thesis at the end of my studies period.Responsibilities• Auditing the existing lighting set up to examine all required photometric characteristics for a specific lighting class defined in the DIN EN 13201 norm. • Performing the illuminance measurement with a digital illuminance meter as well as the measurement of the luminance density with a luminance measurement camera according to the DIN EN 13201-3 guidelines.• Developing two different scenarios for the refurbishment of road lighting system. The first scenario included the adopted initial situation with all existing masts. The second scenario covered the modified mounting height for a light source.• Conducting simulations of the new lighting scenarios with application for simulating artificial light and daylight (Relux) and ensuring that the new lighting system is conform with all minimum requirements of the DIN 13201 norm.• Developing the cost comparison of different measures and calculating the operational and capital costs.Achievements• Cost reduction: Saved up to 80 % on the increasing energy costs.• Safety: Contributed to the reduced number of road traffic collisions happening at night and helped with decreasing the fear of crime among the local community due to the limited visibility. • Awareness: I presented my findings during the yearly Energy Conference in Ahrensfelde to raise awareness about the increasing maintenance costs of current lighting solutions among the district representatives. • Environment: Reduced carbon dioxide emissions thanks to the use of LED street lighting system. -
Industrial EngineeringTechnische Universität Berlin Feb 2016 - Jul 2016Berlin Area, GermanyEnergy audit of air conditioning and ventilation systems.I conducted the energy audit of air conditioning and ventilation systems in the Hermann-Rietschel-Institute in accordance with the EnEV (Energy Saving Ordinance). The inspection included the efficiency determination to examine the substantial technology components in the building. Responsibilities• Auditing the existing air conditioning and ventilation systems to examine the required energy characteristics in the building. • Performing the dynamic pressure measurement with micromanometer and pitot tube.• Conducting the power measurement with current clamps and the flow measurement with an ultrasound.• Calculating the efficiency figures in accordance with DIN SPEC 15240.• Evaluating the measurement uncertainty due to systematic errors of measuring instruments.• Evaluating the ventilator efficiency and its specific fan power. • Developing the overview of all building energy measurements and calculating the Energy Efficiency Ratio of the ventilation technology.Achievements• Cost reduction: Saved up to 13,890 EUR per year on the energy costs by identifying energy savings measures.• Cost reduction: Saved up to 7984 EUR per year on the energy costs by introducing direct gas heating.• Cost reduction: Saved up to 12% on the energy costs due to the increased temperature efficiency of heat recovery. -
It Network AdministratorBerlin Institute Of Technology (Technische Universität Berlin) May 2012 - Apr 2016Berlin Area, GermanyI worked as a network administrator in the service facility of the Technical University of Berlin. I managed 250 workstations on virtual desktop basis with different Thin Clients (NUC, Wyse P20, SunRay).Responsibilities• Monitoring all system alerts and resolving complex issues in system hardware and software.• Analysing the system for failures and assisting in restoring files.• Managing the efficient application of various window patches and security controls.• Ensuring the efficient work of servers and operational systems.• Providing the technical support for all university employees and students having issues with different hardware and software programs via internal ticketing system.• Implementing and maintaining the VMware virtualisation vSphere infrastructure.• Maintaining the live audio and video streaming for selected lectures happening at the Technical University of Berlin.Achievements• Service quality: Decreased the average support ticket resolution time from 24 hours to 3 hours.• Service quality: Reduced the abandoned ticket rate from 20% to less than 2%.• Awareness: Provided the technical guidance to other VMware administrators and trained new team members on the virtualisation infrastructure.•Service quality: Decreased the downtime and increased the user satisfaction with the usage of different hardware and software programs. This was possible due to increasing the efficiency in resolution of technical issues submitted to the support team.
