I’ve been a director of photography for 18 years. I’ve reached a stage where I’m at one with what I do, what I create. That’s the beauty of experience. You learn to trust your judgement and focus on collaboration, which I believe is the heart of successful filmmaking.I like to split my time between feature-length projects and commercials. They’re what I know and love. Once or twice a year I shoot philanthropic work for the Annenberg Foundation. Working intimately with Charles Annenberg and a very small crew it keeps me grounded, reminding me how fortunate I am to do what I do.Before moving up to DP I worked my way through the ranks of the camera department. I look back on those years very fondly, and the inspiration it gave me. I learned from the very best in our business, working on small independent projects right up to some of the biggest movie franchises of our time.My elder brother Adrian was a great cinematographer. His sudden death in 2005 still gives me pause. In some way though, it drives me. Adrian placed a lot of faith in me and by creating quality work in my mind helps repay that faith. Travel never gets old for me, especially to new markets or distant corners of the world. I now split my home between Los Angeles and London and am lucky enough to hold dual citizenship.I’m currently represented by James Little at the Screen Talent Agency in London.
