I believe that having a focus on Tech For Good is really important in today's age. With the advent of social media (which is probably one of the most damaging experiments on society ever conducted) and digital entertainment, people are more absorbed into the virtual world than ever, and the Metaverse is just over the horizon.When I was a teenager, I was bombarded with constant media, data collection, curated content and explicit content. I found myself living in a digital world, with harms that come with it not being fully addressed or prevented. In truth, I got off lightly, only being desensitised through content, however children are in worse situations; exploitation, radicalisation, bullying, all while they’re at home in their living rooms next to their parents. Since then, I have become passionate about creating solutions for parents, children and organisations looking after children within their care, to reduce the risks of online harms and be equipped to approach, treat and review an array of situations.That’s why I founded Digital Woof with its flagship app called FiDO (Family independent Devices Online), FiDO will be an AI-powered technology designed to "sniff" out danger online, enabling parents to take a proactive rather than a reactive approach to keeping their children safe online.Today it is an education-based tool designed to make understanding the risks and safeguarding measures on platforms easy, while we work to make it even more powerful - watch this space.
