As a middle school teacher for twenty five years, I have worked to educate students to their fullest potential and prepare them with the skills to be lifelong learners and successful, effective members of our community. As a Master's student finishing the Instructional Design and Technology program at American College of Education, I am working to improve and expand my skills as an educator and instructional designer in the ever changing world of education𝐀 𝐟𝐞𝐰 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐲 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞:• 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬: I am a student finishing a Master’s program in instructional design and technology. In this capacity, I have been responsible for designing instruction that successfully utilizes goals, objectives, and assessments to maximize learning. •𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠: I have worked as the grade level team leader for the last ten years. In this role, I have set agendas, organized and facilitated meetings, and planned, implemented, and guided teacher professional development.•𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: I created a school-wide initiative to start a student leadership group in 2018. This program began with the vision of creating opportunities for student leaders to take on responsibility, share vision, find inspiration to change and improve the school community and the lives of all those involved. To this day, the program is thriving and receives over 50 applications a year from interested students.•𝐔𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬: I have conducted a multi-year assessment data analysis toidentify gaps in learner understanding and used the data to develop additional resources tosolve for the gaps. This effort has increased student achievement in district wide assessment, as well as state assessments. •Additional roles: I have coached sports throughout my entire career as a teacher. In this capacity, I have been able to build stronger relationships with the students and have a greater impact on helping them grow as students and athletes.•Interests: I spend a lot of time outside with my wife and three Golden Retrievers. Hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, playing frisbee, or working on projects around the house are some of the many things I enjoy doing in my free time.
