In my current role, I collect and analyze intelligence from different deep and dark web (DDW) sources and delegate internal and client research requests to a team of more than 5 analysts across multiple time zones. Briefly, my progression and accomplishments are:Identified relevant cybercrime threats to existing and prospective clients, such as malicious actors targeting these organizations, leaked data such as client credentials, and analyzed tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) used by DDW actors.Successfully conducted research prior to gathering data related to DDW actors for the purpose of populating a cyber intelligence platform that includes information regarding malicious events, threat actors and threat groups for the purpose of painting a more transparent picture of the cyber threat landscape.

I joined iDefense at Verisign in December 2007 as an entry-level Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst. My role initially involved researching an array of cybercrime with a primary focus on malicious actors engaged in carding. Over the years, my role evolved to heavily focus on hacktivism, including monitoring malicious actors present on Internet Relay Chat (IRC) and Twitter. Following the gradual decline of hacktivist activity, I again started to focus on financially-motivated cybercrime.While at Verisign, I served as an assistant team lead for a small team of intelligence analysts located across multiple time zones. As a seasoned analyst, I mentored and transferred my knowledge of cybercrime and hacktivism to junior team members.My projects during this time included preparing monthly reports for several customers that highlighted cybercrime threats in the underground to these organizations. Additionally, I conducted recurring research on DDoS-for-hire services, highlighting supply and demand, key providers, and pricing trends. Furthermore, I contributed short-form and long-form research topics to weekly client-facing publications.My research of malicious actors and groups subsequently helped to populate multiple threat intelligence platforms.
