I am an engineer at heart - I love to design, build and test electronics, software and other technology gear in my home workshop and share my passion with the world. I am passionate about teaching the next generation of aspiring creative architects, engineers and story-tellers through my work with organizations like Odyssey of the Mind. And I really enjoy restoring old cars - modernizing them so everything outside looks original, but everything inside is as modern as can be.For work, I am a senior managing director leading Innovation globally for Accenture. In this role, I am responsible for functions across R&D, advisory services as well as a worldwide network of innovation hubs. I also serve as Accenture's Chief Software Engineer where I set the standards, strategy and direction for Accenture’s business in custom development, cloud-native and full-stack engineering. I've been fortunate to have opportunities which have resulted in more than a dozen patents in the field of software engineering.Prior to my current roles, I led Accenture’s largest business segment in North America, overseeing the fastest growth period of Technology Services in twenty-years. I have delivered many pioneering technology engagements over more than three decades with Accenture, including establishing the world’s largest wholesale electricity market and building a true network-effect platform business for a global insurer. Previously, I was responsible for Accenture’s Intelligent Cloud & Engineering practice both globally and within Asia-Pacific where he was based. This organization focused on accelerating Accenture’s growth in cloud and custom solutions, setting a new market standard for truly integrated, full-stack cloud and engineering capabilities. This organization focused on providing world-class technical architects and custom system engineers to Accenture clients as well as incubating next-generation capabilities related to blockchain, artificial intelligence and similar disruptive technologies. I studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Virginia and my background also includes graduate studies in fault-tolerant digital systems design. My family and I live in Tampa, Florida. In my spare time, I coach internationally ranked middle-school academic competition teams and enjoy modernizing vintage automobiles.
