I have over 18 years of experience working within the DoD holding positions in national security, defense policy and strategy, joint professional military education (JPME), and military intelligence. I bring a unique combination of military experience, academic expertise, and leadership skills, defense policy knowledge, and draw upon them to develop innovative policy and program options to address complex and multifaceted threats to U.S. national security. I am an experienced program manager analyst, advisor, researcher, speaker, and educator that has taught courses at the Graduate and Intermediate Service College level. I have a proven track record in the development of core curricula and the delivery of graduate-level interdisciplinary instruction in the areas of international relations and regional security studies, foreign policy analysis, and U.S. foreign policy. I have extensive experience researching, developing, managing, and advising on national security and defense programs, and in building diverse teams that have successful developed creative and innovative solutions to complex national security and defense issues.During my career I have developed a deep institutional knowledge of the DoD--including components, processes, missions, and authorities--which enable me to successfully develop and implement policy, and create and support streamlined processes for advancing initiatives. I have built a reputation as a leader in DoD and interagency based upon my subject-matter expertise, professionalism, and ability to contribute meaningfully and collaboratively to critical and contentious issues. I have personally handled the development of the strategy and implementation for several strategic initiatives with regional partners, managing interagency working groups and writing and briefing regular updates for the highest levels of leadership in the DoD, the State Department, and the NSC. I consistently provide senior leaders with reasoned and strategic insights, and successfully fuse my subject-matter knowledge of national security priorities, regional dynamics, and my professional relationships with foreign counterparts to structure and lead negotiations. I have routinely been called upon to contribute to briefings to congressional staffers on foreign military sales, U.S. regional foreign policy, and bilateral activities with regional partners. I have also distinguished myself as an instructor and academic scholar on Yemen, Iran and the Gulf region, utilizing my expertise and experience to develop and deliver JPME in innovative and creative ways.
