I am developing new UAV based products, involving autonomous UAV flight control, swarm interaction, custom UAV hardware integration, and sensor data analysis.

I consulted on a contract involving a drone flight stack I created, and designed a modified flight stack for use in swarm inspections.

I worked with several different simulators and graphics engines working on proofs of concept.

I worked on developing new products and prototypes, focusing on UAV control software, computer perception using point clouds, sensors including stereo cameras and LiDAR, and path planning.I successfully created a path planning algorithm for UAVs that handles both static and dynamic obstacles. (Patent Pending)

I was a lead developer for 4 core components for an army situational awareness application, a deep packet inspection and intercept tool, and several common libraries. I was a key contributor to a network gateway, which emulated DIS, TENA, HLA, SIMPLE, and SIP protocols for LVC (Live, Virtual, and Constructive) training.I designed and implemented a new architecture which used asynchronous publish and subscribe communication as well as synchronous data flow communication that allowed for the use of any number of threads. This allowed better use of multi-core CPUs and improved performance 10 fold in testing.I reverse engineered various packets from bytes using Wireshark and added these protocols to Wireshark. For parsing these messages in our application, I created a high performance, configurable, general purpose network message parser that the team began using for other projects. Many classes from this project became common functionality in many other products. I championed creating a common library for the team and became lead for these libraries.I championed the use of git, Gitlab, and CI (Continuous Integration), and helped the team convert to this from Subversion.

I worked on R&D projects for an army situational awareness tool and integrated with army training gear.I developed a set of scripts to improve my productivity, enhancing the developement environment. My team decided to use my scripts and they became the standard development environment for our local team. During this time, I also improved setup times by cloning Linux based machines and scripting the process to setup a test environment, which improved setup time for new developers and developers switching to new environments.

I Led a team that administered a worldwide database with approximately 64 separate locations in approximately 40 countries.I was hired to work my way toward programming and start off writing reports for a worldwide ministry database. I learned SQL and report generation in Access and generated reports while learning VBA to help with application development and designing forms. We transitioned to Sybase ASA, which gave me the opportunity to learn about database schema and table design. I saved the team time by automating a daily manual process involving spreadsheets that went from hours a day to only a few seconds.By the third year, I became the administrator for the database and lead developer for a small team. I learned flash and full VB (rather than VBA) and Crystal Reports to replace the Access frontend with something more performant. For example, during this time, I improved report generation time for a large report we used from over an hour to under a minute.
