I grew the holdings of this company to 17 individual condos before selling the entire portfolio in 2024.Working for Capps Equity was the first time that I had a business that I owned and relied on for my paycheck. Building a portfolio is much like the startup world as it takes quite a bit of actuall owner driven work to pull off. I did everything in this company. I painted, replaced faucets, switched out water heaters, and managed 17 tenants, from leasing to collecting to handling complaints. I was much more familiar with the bookkeeping / buisiness side but it was very fulfilling to get to work directly with customers. Show less

I am working with Launchpeer to prototype, fundraise and then build and launch an application to help parents manage the risk of teenage drivers. I was picked up for the 2021 class of Start Up Studios located in Norfolk VA. This incubator helped focus my goals and introduced me to a cadre of mentors both business and peer.Unfortunately this startup did not raise the initial funding needed to launch the product. I recently joined an ISO so I could save my family run business some money in credit card fee's. I believe I might dedicate some time in the near future to expanding this aspect of my current employment status.

I worked through most of my college years here. I met quite a few interesting people while I worked to pay my way through college. I also decided I never want to work in a restaurant again.

I enjoyed my time in this small community college very much, I had no idea what I wanted to do for a profession so I enrolled in a myriad.
