I am a contract SAS analyst with experience working for a variety of businesses using multiple programs, including SAS, SQL and VBA principally. My two principal attributes is my flexible learning approach to work and my automation skills. I am always comfortable using new programs and systems and have a proven track record of learning skills to achieve the task ahead of me, rather than producing a substandard solution using existing skills. I have a strong bases in programming from my use of SAS, SQL and VBA among other scripts. I have worked with each of these on multiple platforms and across different versions, such as Enterprise Miner 7 - 9, WPS, Mainframes, Alterian's NSQL, Teradata, Oracle, Derby, PHP, Excel (97+), Word (2003+), PowerPoint (2003+), Outlook and scripts. The understanding of programming from these allows me to understand new programs faster and work to an "as needed" knowledge base; learning necessary techniques and processes when needed. This approach has helped me solve every request or design requirement to date. My skills with SAS macros, variables, and links to external programs, together with my VBA and batch skills has given me a varied resource of automation techniques allowing me to reduce the time spent on manual activities for both me and my team so greater focus can be directed towards analysis and insight. I have used the automated process for a variety of tasks from automating the creation of MI reports and creating interactive reports, producing bespoke reports on a large scale (100+ individual reports, for instance) and developing tools such as a process to convert an Excel worksheet into and PowerPoint Presentation or an easy to use interface to control batch scripts or e-mails. Along side these many attributes I enjoy working as part of a team am have often supported my team through designing functionality for them, training them or creating instruction documentation.
