Students were given an introductory understanding of Unity and Unreal Engine and developed galleries with interactive objects to showcase their 2D and 3D work throughout the semester.

On completion of the course, I returned to take on the role as Lead Instructor for the January VR Bootcamp. This included preparing and teaching highly relevant content, including - Best practice VR design principles; Real-world uses of VR; Discussing the roles and skills needed to build effective VR teams; 2D to 3D design thinking for immersive VR experiences; Demonstrating on-boarding using HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Playstation VR and Understanding current and emerging VR/AR technologies and platforms.I also presented an interactive demonstration of Unity3D as a design tool for VR games and experiences, including - Using VRTK & Steam VR for rapid development of experiences; User Interface Design; Character Modelling & Animation workflows (Adobe Fuse to Mixamo to Unity); Unity physics, lighting and spatialised audio; Prototyping in 3D (grey boxing); using meshes, materials/shaders and textures; using scripts and components; 3D object editing and manipulation; importing and using .obj and .fbx files; setting up VR player settings (for direct to VR experience testing) and building-out a VR experience to a Windows Executable File (.exe).
