I am a former General Counsel at BDO with extensive accountancy regulatory (FRC/ICAEW), litigation and risk management expertise (including as PI and captive director). Having now come “back to the dark side” I now represent accountants, auditors and other professionals in professional negligence litigation and regulatory investigations (especially ICAEW and FRC). My in-house experience includes managing the longest professional liability “virtual trial” during the pandemic (One Blackfriars Limited (In Liquidation). Previous cases include successful defences on various FRC investigations, the Court of Appeal decision on third party funder costs liability (Chapelgate v Money and others) and the successful Supreme Court appeal in Barnes v Eastenders Group and CPS.
