I am a "non traditional" student at Holyoke Community College. I recently re enrolled after a seven year break to reassess my current situation and my long term goals. Working as a substitute teacher opened my eyes as to what I want to do, that being a middle school teacher. I took the Work Keys Assessment to become a paraprofessional to gain the skills necessary to be the best teacher I can be. I have spent the two years working in the Special Education department at White Brook Middle School, one working in the Developmental Learning Center. Currently, I am working with the behavioral children, helping them overcome behavioral obstacles so that they may join their classmates "on team," and not be in the behavior room all day long. This year I am also assisting in the planning of the 8th grade field trip to Washington, DC.
