Provide leadership, mentorship, and support safety to a team of 10 Rail Traffic Controllers with accountability for all operational-related matters pertaining to the execution of the Daily Operating Plan at the Minneapolis Operations Center for a transcontinental railway, providing North American customers a competitive rail service with access to key markets worldwide.• Manage daily bulk train slotting and the execution of on-time and full duration Engineering Services (ES) work blocks.• Coach and train Rail Traffic Controllers, participate in rules review sessions, and evaluate positive/negative performance.• Consistently meet or exceed annual safety objectives; review monthly Operations Control Center safety scorecard.• Monitor train performance, in consideration of long train meet locations; ensure execution failures are recorded in the applicable system of record (i.e. Nexus) and provide feedback and documentation as required.• Direct validation and execution of the over the road power plans.• Maintain accountability for accurate train line up information within standard; report any incidents with potential to delay trains, including cause, status, details, location, time delayed, and subsequent impacts.• Review Crew Dispatcher manpower reports and initiate the management crew process if required.• Ensure on time start; execute the required daily duration; plan 24 hours out, based on Engineer Services Daily plan & Train Planning; address exceptions to the plan which impact on time train performance.• Manage emergency response processes, (Derailment, Broken Wheel, etc.) escalating emergent conditions to the General Superintendent Transportation; further, execute incident recovery plans, conference calls, detour monitoring, etc..
