I am an experienced scientific software developer, with strong expertise in C++, Python and continuous integration systems (Jenkins). I have a background in physics research, holding a PhD from Imperial College London in High Energy Physics, with a further 5 years of postdoctoral research experience on the Muon Ionization Cooling Experiment (MICE).Besides coding I am also passionate about physics education, having twice won an Award for Support of Excellence in Teaching from the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Imperial College. I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Univeristy Learning and Teaching (PGCertULT) also from Imperial, and am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.My current role is as a software engineer working on OperaFEA, a state-of-the-art multiphysics finite element simulation package.My personal interests including reading (whodunits, scifi/fantasy in particular), photography, videogames and holidaying in Cornwall.
