Dimensional Systems Integration - After joining the company I was given responsibility for the side systems for two new vehicles. This involved engineering both trim and body components to ensure gap and flush as well as fitment were upto JLR standards. PULSE Champion - Department management asked if I would champion our Pulse survey, gathering feedback from colleagues and then working with management to create and action a plan. This role also gives me presentation experience as well as enabling me to gain departmental visibility. IESA Champion - I was also given responsibility of ordering and ensuring the departments PPE was suitable for an individuals role.

With the help of the site EHS manager I lead a sub-metering project for the sight, giving live in depth data on all machines within each value stream, something not previously in place. It was deemed by the site senior management that whilst also giving the data, this would create a cost saving through behavioural changes and identification of issues for future projects. During my time at the site I also identified and executed smaller projects such as standardising startup and shutdown procedures and helped with financial analysis and research into some of the sites future projects. Working through the COVID-19 pandemic once again has helped develop my communications skills both online and in person helping me see the importance of regular updates and check ins whilst also setting targets and deadlines for work to be completed by whilst staying within the scope.

To gain valuable work experience in between my academic studies I undertook a placement at JELD-WEN in Sheffield. There I lead projects on lean and traceability to improve the systems at the site and to collate a report for the UK & France operations manager of the company supported with financial implications . I worked closely with the sites senior management and operators to gain experience of working in industry to take back to my studies where we work with Unipart in Coventry
