Design, fabrication, and operation of integrated hardware/software/data platforms for high-throughput/high-content biological experimentation pipelines. Application areas include: cell-cell interactions, immuno-oncology, tissue engineering, and microfluidics.

At Kyper, I helped lead a small team of engineers to design, build, and deploy a Data-as-a-Service Publishing Platform (real-time + historical) concentrated on serving FinTech/Quant developers. Specifically, I spearheaded all aspects of data integrations (discovery/sourcing, evaluation, negotiations/contracts, automated data ingest and processing, data engineering, schemas and API design).

Led data acquisition efforts in search of novel, systematic trading signals. Responsibilities included: discovery, sourcing, evaluation, negotiation/contracts, data engineering (for machine learning), and data stream processing and integration. Simultaneously, as a member of the trading strategy R&D team I applied machine learning techniques to investigate automated, event-based trading strategies (primarily Futures/Commodities).

Worked with Cody Gilleland to design, build, and operate a robotic platform capable of performing micro-surgical procedures that yield genetically modified animal lineages (initially focused on C. elegans; later successfully performed on C. brenerri and Anopheles mosquitoes). Our work, featured in the journal Genetics, demonstrated the potential to industrialize genetic engineering.DARPA is currently funding a 2nd-Gen system (MIT Media Lab) to remove bottlenecks in Gene-Drive research.
