As a Student Aid Officer at McGill Global Health Summer Institutes, I play a key role in facilitating both in-person and virtual educational experiences. My responsibilities include liaising with faculty members, setting up and managing event pages on Cvent, and ensuring the seamless operation of in-person classes by coordinating logistics. Additionally, I oversee the smooth execution of online classes, managing aspects such as recording sessions and optimizing audio-visual quality to enhance learning outcomes for all participants. In my role as a Physiotherapy Assistant at Montreal Tundra, I focused on enhancing athlete performance and recovery through targeted therapeutic interventions. I applied Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) and dynamic lower body stretches to increase flexibility and minimize injury risks during practice sessions and pre-game preparations for both home and away teams. Additionally, I prepared recovery aids such as ice packs and static stretches to support post-game cooldown processes and promote muscle recovery. I also had the opportunity to observe Athletic Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Sports Physicians during major injuries and routine physical examinations, which provided me with insights into advanced sports rehabilitation techniques. This position enabled me to contribute to the team’s health and performance significantly, ensuring athletes were prepared and maintained optimal physical condition throughout the season.

Gerhold Lab

During my summer with the Gerhold Lab, we investigated the effects of decreased insulin signaling on chromosomal fidelity during mitosis in C. Elegans through the utilization of live imaging techniques. To conduct these experiments, I had to create and maintain strains of C. Elegans using various genetic techniques such as genetic crossing, PCR, fluorescence microscopy, and CRISPR and actively participated in day-to-day lab activities, tasks, and meetings.

During my tenure as a Camp Counselor at Laurus Summer Camp in DDO from May to August 2022, I had the opportunity to lead science courses aimed at fostering fundamental lab skills in children, all while ensuring their safety remained paramount. Additionally, I dedicated myself to coaching basketball and promoting overall fitness among our campers aged 7-15. It was immensely rewarding to be recognized with the "Counselor of the Summer" award, an acknowledgment of my efforts in building strong and meaningful connections with both campers and their families, as well as fostering a positive team dynamic among my coworkers.
