Director and joint head of the Dispute Resolution department at BTMK. Adam deals with all aspects of civil & commercial litigation, and has a a particular interest in injunctions and property law matters Adam regularly deals a wide range of matters including all types of possession claims, debt recovery, contractual disputes, insolvency, professional negligence, freezing injunctions, right of light, business and partnership disputes, trust of land, leasehold issues and intellectual property. Adam recently dealt with a significant director's misfeasance claim arising out of a Special Administration.Adam also heads the landlord & tenant team at BTMK which acts for a number of landlords and letting agents in the local area and beyond. Adam regularly speaks to landlord forums and professional organisations about the ever changing legal landscape in this area. The team recently successfully dealt with the eviction of a high profile squatters organisation from a prominent property in Central London, together with numerous evictions throughout Essex.Adam was part of a team at BTMK that dealt with a complicated property fraud in which the vendor's solicitors failed to discharge mortgages which they had undertaken to redeem. The claim resulted in High Court Freezing Orders being obtained against the assets of the partners of the vendor's law firm, the law firm itself and various (connected) third parties. The claim resulted in a very positive outcome for the purchasers and the case gained notoriety in both the local and national press, and across legal publications, highlighting the continuing risk with property transactions and the way in which it is difficult to control the behaviour of the vendor's lawyers.Away from the office Adam has a very keen interest in cricket having been Club Captain at Hadleigh & Thundersley Cricket Club between 2004 & 2013. Adam is also a keen golfer with a handicap of 12.
