Worked alongside a senior Mechanical Engineer on boiler and chiller optimisation projects. Assisted in generating the scope document, presentations, and the final report. The objective was to achieve efficiency and sustainablility. I witnessed a CHP Project (Combined Heat and Power) in its commissioning phase. Igenerated turnover to support projects for handover to the client. As part of my internship, I presented to PM at the Tallaght Dublin office on experience gained.

Worked for PM Group OEP team on site in MSD Carlow. I was assigned to a senior engineer to assist the startup of a CHP project. Witnessed the enabling works for utilities. Organised PSSRs (Pre-Safety Start up Review) and completed turnover for all systems. I attended meetings and recorded minutes during the evaluation process, and collaborations between PM group, vendors, onsite contractors, and the client. Assisted in determining locations for components for CHP. I marked up drawings to confirm updates. I attended site visits to view vendor premises.

Employed by Radleys Engineering to work on a Micro Lab project. My work included fitting pipes to the heat exchangers, fitting process waste vents on the roof, troubleshooting issues with the route of pipes from the 3D Model, assisted riggeres when setting up cranes, inventory and stock control. I was assisting fitters and fabricators who worked with steel, PVC and copper piping and we worked in pairs. This allowed me to become familiar with how certain pipes are fitted, welded, crimped or brazed and the associated processes related to this work.

During my summer in Radley Engineering LTD. I attended pre walks of systems before client walkdown ensuring alignment of installation to turnover drawings. Reviewing the 3D model (Navisworks) of the project to understand the next phase of work and call off of materials. Involved in creating isometrics for inclusion in turnover packages and coordinated pipework and materials from site storage to the workface forinstallation. Weekly, reported progress to Radleys site supervision. This work gave me an insight into Good Documentation Practices and the Safety Culture. I witnessed the various aspects of cleanroom construction during my time onsite. Assisted with risk assessments and method statements. Involved with the creating and signing on of the daily Safe Plan of Action. Recorded inventory of harnesses, ensuring they were safety compliant and signed off prior to work commencing. Ensured fire sheets for safety during the processes like welding and grinding were available. Conducted safety and fire watch.
