I love coffee. Ever since that first perfectly balanced espresso with an incredible caramel sweetness backed by notes of chocolate, I’ve been searching for the next ‘god’ shot. Tinkering with different brew methods, recipes, beans, different roasters my path of discovery has taken me down the rabbit hole and I haven’t looked back. The greatest part of this journey has been meeting everyone along the way and sharing our experiences. I believe that by sharing our experiences we can transform and improve the lives of those around us.My first cafe was The Only Cafe where I was given the space and opportunity to delve into coffee head first. There I became a senior staff member where I trained new staff, created espresso recipes, and dialed in new equipment. From there my journey of discovery took me to Propeller Coffee Co where I delved into roasting as the apprentice and discovered sales for the first time. Today I take my collective experiences and help others discover theirs at Outpost Coffee Roasters. Recently we have expanded our wholesale program, which has allowed me to visit cafes and assist with developing their businesses.When I leave the cafe I continue my journey of discovery every day. I’m typically taking a class to help refine my skills being online or at a local college. When I’m not taking notes in class I’m usually found reading books such as Jocko Willink’s Extreme Ownership to Terry Pratchett’s Thief of Time. Where I spend most of my time now is with my infant son on his journey of discovery. Playing with him and helping him discover the world around him has been one of the most fulfilling journeys of discoveries I’ve begun.
