In 2024Q1 2/3rd of all developers committed to the monorepo and it was built ~20k times.• Addressed significant historical critical security concerns in the core product and drove cultural and process changes to keep core frameworks up to date and secure. • Drove initiatives that improved LTTD from a mean of 36.6 hours to 17.3 hours• Led efforts to modernize observability, create a decoupled front end architecture, manage local developer environments, and improve a fragile and bespoke CI system.

• Directed a team of 26 engineers to build, maintain, and improve the lifesaving Urgent Response system and business critical Device Management platform. These systems are responsible for supporting Best Buy Health's Urgent Response service, which provides 24/7 support for customer issues ranging from lost keys to life-threatening medical emergencies.• Contributed as a subject matter expert on the evaluation of the engineering practices, standards, and systems as part of the technical diligence team for the $400 million Current Health acquisition.• Improved consistency and reliability of team releases through a focused effort on improving key elements of the SDLC. Techniques such as a fully automated CI/CD pipeline, automated integration test, and smaller more frequent releases reduced time spent deploying and testing systems while increasing the total volume of changes deployed.• Proactively identified the need to expand the device management capabilities in order to support long term roadmap objectives. Successfully executed a campaign to fund and staff a second Device Management team. This capacity quickly became crucial and allowed our business to rapidly pivot and deliver a key HITRUST compliance activity while still delivering on desired feature enhancements.• Excelled in cross team and cross organization collaboration during the integration into the Best Buy Security and Compliance ecosystem. • Spearheaded the application integration efforts between Best Buy Health and Best Buy post-acquisition. Enabled in-store sales, account setup, and product activation of Best Buy Health’s consumer products across retail channels nationwide.• Led development of the Lively Health and Safety Services on the Apple Watch, the first jointly developed Best Buy and Best Buy Health consumer service in partnership with Apple. Drove the vision, strategy, and execution with over 40 products teams to create the mobile application, new digital and retail sales capabilities, and integrated support systems.• Addressed low employee morale surrounding software releases by creating and leading a task force consisting of 14 individual contributors, managers, and directors. Satisfaction increased from ~40% to ~70% over 3 months.• Stepped in and recovered a failing product launch for the Lively Wearable device and the supporting Android/IOS mobile applications. Identified foundational issues in the team and corrected them through a combination of hiring, mentorship, and realignment of processes.

• Managed a 15 person cross-functional team that successfully migrated our application infrastructure, consisting of over 200 services and 500k connected devices, from a local data center to AWS.•Introduced practices such as Software Defined Infrastructure, environment standardization, and centralized logging platforms, reducing system outages from multiple a month to a few a year.• Introduced foundational technologies such as NServiceBus/RabbitMQ that simplified the effort needed to build, test, and release software. This system currently processes ~10 billion messages a month.

• Supervised a 5 person team that replaced Qualcomm’s BREW platform with a proprietary system. Reduced time to develop and test mobile device software over the air from weeks to hours.• Significantly increased engineering team engagement and employee happiness with company holiday activities. Organized an annual Christmas party led by the engineering team that included holiday-themed technical demos, activities, and a charity (Child’s Play).

• Developed turnkey software solutions for a wide range of Fire and EMS departments around the United States such as FDNY New York, British Columbia Ambulance Service, and Los Angeles County.• Engaged with customers to understand their needs, designed solutions and delivered implementations for 15+ accounts with a high degree of customer satisfaction.• Revamped analyst hiring process improving sourcing, filtering, and interviewing leading to higher capability team members.
